The Revelation 2 Phono Preamplifier is the most straightforward realization of our design team’s dream to create the ultimate phono stage. We’ve updated it with C-SMPS, our proprietary, ultra-quiet, ultra-efficient power supply that reveals the subtlest nuances.
We started with a decades-tested and refined RIAA EQ circuit design. We coupled this circuit to a fully balanced output stage and an extraordinary selection of loading options to get the absolute best from any cartridge. Please note that preamplifier and phono stage power supplies are unique to each product’s power requirements and, therefore, are not interchangeable.
The Power Supply
The heart of the Revelation 2 Phono Preamplifier is a classic RIAA EQ circuit that’s won raves from countless audiophiles and reviewers. We paired this musically refined circuit with an output stage based on the fully balanced Line Stage Gain Modules found in our award-winning line stage preamplifiers, using hand-matched transistors selected for their outstanding, ultra-low-noise performance.
Precision And Flexibility
The Revelation 2 Phono Preamplifier makes it easy to experiment with a wide variety of cartridges in the quest for the best sound. Load settings for the moving-coil inputs are calibrated in ultra-precise 1-ohm steps, from 5 to 1,000 ohms. Settings for each channel and each MC input can be stored independently. For moving-magnet cartridges, load impedance may be set to 10, 33 or 47 kilohms, and load capacitance to 0, 100 or 200 picofarads. XLR and RCA inputs are provided for MC and MM cartridges.
The Power Supply
Our Constellation Switched-Mode Power Supply (C-SMPS) is more than 20 dB quieter than a typical linear supply and delivers consistent, perfect DC power no matter the supply voltage. Thus, we can assure uncompromised retrieval of even the tiniest sonic details.
We encase the power supply in thick, machined aluminum slabs so it cannot interfere with the sensitive phono preamplifier circuits.
Masterful Musicality
The Revelation 2 Phono Preamplifier represents a rare combination of elegant, refined analog circuitry and precision control. An LCD touchscreen, with intuitive control buttons and indicators along the bottom, allows ultra-precise, easily adjustment of all settings, with far better accuracy than even the best analog potentiometers can deliver.
While the Revelation 2 Phono Preamplifier has fewer inputs and EQ options than our more elite phono preamplifiers, it retains their pristine, quiet, musical sound quality and offers all the adjustment flexibility needed to achieve maximum performance from your favorite cartridge … or your next favorite cartridge.
