In every audio system there is a point from which everything originates: the source.
If what begins there is not stable, silent and controlled, no amplifier will be able to correct it.
CD-5.2 is the direct evolution of the CD-5 and is born from this awareness.
It does not change the Gold Note sonic DNA that made it recognisable and multi-award-winning.
It strengthens its foundations.

A more stable structure to reveal more music

The new black anodised aluminium chassis represents the most visible intervention, but also one of the most significant in terms of performance.
It is not simply an aesthetic choice, but follows our intention to combine stylistic design decisions with functionality.
The enclosure improves the mechanical and electrical environment surrounding both the digital and analogue circuits, reducing interaction with unwanted interference.

The result is:

• a blacker background
• lower perceived noise
• greater micro-detail
• a stronger sense of solidity and control

A more stable and better isolated structure translates into fewer interferences and more musical information revealed.

Improved power supply: the source lives here

A High-End source lives through its power supply. For this reason, we decided to update and improve the internal power supply of the CD-5.2, designing it to offer greater stability and improved current capability under real-world operating conditions.

The audible benefits are concrete and immediate:

• firmer dynamics
• faster transients
• more precise bass control
• cleaner high frequencies in complex passages
• an overall sensation of greater relaxation combined with stronger authority

The more stable the power supply, the freer and more credible the sound becomes.

Clearer interaction, more modern experience

Following the work carried out on the power supply, we also focused on product usability, updating the display and redesigning the layout to make interaction more intuitive and immediate.
Information is easier to read, navigation is faster, and ergonomics are improved for more natural everyday use. Technology should not slow down listening. It should accompany it; for this reason, greater immediacy also means a better user experience.

Integrated volume: the centre of an essential system

For the first time, CD-5.2 integrates an internal volume control.

This allows direct connection to:

• a power amplifier
• active loudspeakers

This creates an ultra-essential chain, defined by fewer components, fewer critical points, but above all greater coherence. CD-5.2 is not only a CD player.
It can become the control centre of a direct and minimalist High-End system, making the product extremely versatile from this point of view as well.

5.2 Philosophy

Like every product in the Series 5.2, CD-5.2 is born from a clear principle, rooted in our vision of high fidelity: not to pursue marginal improvements, but to introduce real and perceptible changes.
We do not believe in 3% differences audible only under ideal conditions.
We believe in meaningful progress, always. CD-5.2 is a true conscious evolution of the CD-5, not a simple upgrade.
