EXtrema Power Terminal KBL Sound, June 16, 2025

When building a system, the best idea is to start with the power supply, especially from the place where all devices draw power. Sound originates from this current.
The EXtrema power terminal was developed with the highest class audio systems in mind for audiophiles who demand the best. Designed and manufactured without compromise, using only premium components and advanced materials with the most puristic design possible.
The chassis of this massive unit is created by CNC machining a solid block of aerospace-grade aluminium. As a result, a chamber with very thick walls is obtained - up to 30mm. This ensures excellent screening, stability and absorption of external and internal resonances, which in turn allows to maintain undisturbed electron transfer in the cables and sockets located inside.

It uses an IEC Fi-09NCFR inlet and 6 Furutech Fi-30NCFR schuko outlets or 3 GTX-D NCF(R) in US/Asia version. The internal wiring is made of ultra-pure OCC monocrystalline copper in Teflon insulation. The cables are star-wired, that means, go from the inlet to all mains sockets in parallel, not in series, i.e. the current flows from AC power cable connected to the wall to each of them directly. In this way, no subsequent socket in the series "steals" the voltage from the previous one, as is the case in most, even exclusive, power strips or distributors.
There are no filters, chokes, etc. inside, because the highest standard of engineering solutions and components do their job better than electronic parts, which always create a barrier to the free flow of current, eliminating one and adding the other. Interfering electromagnetic waves EMI and RFI are completely absent inside the massive housing, thanks to excellent shielding and special cable routing. EXtrema power terminal is not a conditioner, but its effect on the sound of the system is usually more beneficial than in the case of even very expensive conditioners.
Thanks to EXtrema power terrminal included to the system, music has a flow and is not just a more or less sorted out collection of sounds. The sound with RPT-797 seems more fluid, lively and present, in short, better defined and refined in all aspects. Skeptics will not want to believe - until they experience it themselves. The change is really significant and worth trying.
The EXtrema power terminal works best with KBL Sound power cables, such as Red Corona SRX, Himalaya SX, Himalaya PRO2 or EXtrema, but it can also work well with other high-end power cables.

SPECIFICATION

  • AC input: IEC Furutech FI-09NCFR inlet, Alpha process, pure copper covered with rhodium, housing made of a composite of glass fiber and nylon. Also made using NCF technology - Nano Crystal²-Nano Crystallin Formula. The whole subjected to a demagnetization and cryogenization process
  • AC mains US/Asia version: Furutech GTX-D NCF(R) 20A/125V sockets mounted to the housing cover to ensure the greatest mechanical integrity of the entire power terminal. All conductive elements of the sockets are made of pure copper (Alpha process) and covered with rhodium, housing made of a composite combining nylon with glass fiber, polycarbonate cover. Made using NCF technology - Nano Crystal²-Nano Crystallin Formula. The whole subjected to a demagnetization and cryogenization process
  • AC mains schuko version: Furutech FI-30NCFR 16A/250V schuko sockets mounted to the housing cover to ensure the greatest mechanical integrity of the entire power terminal.
  • Chassis: CNC machined aerospace-grade aluminum alloy with hairline anodized surface. Thick walls and very thick bottom for the best absorption of internal and external resonances and shielding of EMI and RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) waves.
  • Internal wiring: 11 AWG wires made of OCC monocrystalline copper, used in a full star-wired configuration: a separate parallel set of wires for each of the mains sockets from the input socket. Teflon insulation.
  • Ground/Earth connection: Chassis Grounding Post (1 standard, 2-6 on request)
  • Custom designed phosphor bronze legs (nickel plated) for the best insulation from the bottom and saturated midrange
