dCS Enters the World of Multichannel Audio
For nearly four decades, dCS has pursued extreme accuracy and precision in the conversion of digital audio to real music, whilst preserving emotion and detail like no other technology. The MCD 16 extends that pursuit into new territory with sixteen channels of audio from eight Ring DACs, sharing our vision for what high-fidelity audio can become when multichannel is uncompromised.

The MCD 16 is our first 16-channel Digital-to-Analogue converter. It may be a new product category for dCS, but we believe it is a natural one.
Eight Ring DACs. Sixteen Channels. One Uncompromising Platform
The dCS MCD 16 features 16 channels of high-performance Digital-to-Analogue conversion using eight individual Ring DAC™ circuits. The Ring DAC™ is the foundation of every dCS product, chosen for its exceptional distortion and noise performance.
Reduced harmonic distortion across the dynamic range means quiet passages of music or dialogue are rendered with complete integrity. It also means that louder sounds decay naturally: reverb tails, the dying resonance of a struck chord, the gradual fade of a room — all resolve cleanly, giving a greater sense of space and depth across the full dynamic range, not just at its quietest extremes. A discrete Class A output stage per channel, with switchable 2V or 6V outputs, ensures the signal leaves the MCD 16 on its own terms, whatever amplifier or cable it meets.
Debut at High End Vienna 2026
The MCD 16 will make its public debut at High End Vienna 2026, running from 4–7 June. It will form the heart of a joint immersive audio demonstration built in collaboration with Trinnov Audio and Perlisten Audio.

The demonstration has been conceived as a fully controlled listening environment where every element of the signal chain, from decoding and conversion to loudspeaker behaviour and spatial rendering, operates with precision and consistency. The result is a large-scale 15.8.8 immersive audio system engineered not simply to impress, but to reveal immersive music reproduction with exceptional stability, coherence, and realism.

Justin Gray: Immersive Music, from the Inside
Throughout the show, the room will host a series of daily sessions led by Grammy Award-winning producer Justin Gray.
Recognised for his work at the forefront of immersive music production, Gray will present and deconstruct selected material in the format for which it was created, offering attendees rare insight into both the creative intent and the technical realities of immersive audio at its best.
Sessions will be ticketed and available to all High End Vienna 2026 attendees.
