Thanks to the AutoFormer, it can be used for full 300 watt 2, 4 or 8 ohm speakers.

The MC2301 is the first McIntosh vacuum tube amplifier to use a Quad Balanced design. This design cancels virtually all noise and distortion in the audio signal. The fuse short circuit protects the Sentry Monitor current for safe operation and then automatically resets when operating conditions return to normal. Inputs for balanced and unbalanced cables can be used to provide flexibility in connecting the rest of the audio system.
