This stereo power amplifier occupies a prominent position in contemporary high fidelity. Designed by legendary engineer Bascom H. King (hence the BHK acronym).

Tube Input Stage: Uses a pair of selected triodes operating in Class A. MOSFET Output Stage: The signal is then delivered to a high-current MOSFET power stage. King chose MOSFETs because, unlike bipolar transistors, they have a duty cycle more similar to that of tubes, ensuring power and control without sacrificing musicality.

Main Technical Features

Power: Delivers 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms and doubles to 500 watts into 4 ohms. It is stable even into difficult 2-ohm loads.

Through-Hole Construction: Unlike most modern devices that use surface-mount (SMD) components, the BHK 250 is constructed entirely with through-hole components and hand-soldered joints, a choice dictated solely by the pursuit of maximum sonic fidelity.

Separate Power Supply: It features independent transformers and regulation circuits for the input and output stages, minimizing interference.

Inputs: It features both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs.

Outputs: Two pairs of gold-plated copper binding posts (CNC-machined by PS Audio), ideal for bi-wiring.
